Financial Accountability
Messenger International places an extremely high importance on “financial integrity” and “good governance.” We make every attempt to ensure 100% compliance with all federal and state laws.
In doing so, we believe in the following:
- Full transparency of financial information. Feel free to review our financial audit report for fiscal year ending June 30, 2011 prepared by an independent audit firm. As you will see, 81.98% of all expenses are program/ministry-related. 100% of our public donations are used to teach, reach, and rescue. Our general, administrative, and fundraising costs are supported by our other streams of revenue. Additionally, our yearly form 990 is complete, accurate, and prepared in good faith.
- Board oversight and authority. The Board of Directors is engaged, informed, and independent. Our board has established rules against inurement and self-dealing.
- Safeguarding of assets. This includes best practices in determining executive compensation, conflicts of interest, and support yearly independent financial audits. The organization follows the rebuttable presumption standards established by the Internal Revenue Service in determining executive compensation.
- Maintaining a whistleblower policy that protects those involved.
- Maintaining a written document retention and destruction policy.
We are honorable in our administration, governance, and financial accountability. If you have any questions, please contact our Chief Financial Officer, Aaron Ramsay, CPA at 719-487-3000.
