Walk in Your Calling

“That which is has already been; And God requires an account of what is past.” Ecclesiastes 3:15 NKJV

Walk in Your Calling

God has already seen your tomorrow. “Every day…was recorded…before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16 NLT). God has predestined everything you are meant to do in this life, yet you have free will. At the judgment seat of Christ, you will give an account of how you spent your time on earth. What you did will be compared with what God predestined for you. Did you walk in what God had written for your life, or did you go your own way?

“For we are His workmanship,” Paul writes, “created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10 NKJV). Regarding your calling, you will be judged, not according to what you did on earth, but according to what you were called to do. Paul did not say “we would walk in them;” you have to decide to walk in the calling God has for you.

In Him,

There has never been a ministry in which I see more humility, intimacy, sincerity and grace(empowerment) this one. My family thanks the entire staff for your brokenness dedication sacrifice faith stretching intimacy impartation and love for the Holy Spirit and our right to elk in the authority we lost and now have found! Very true. Except it sounds so easy to just “know” what that is. I follow His word, look for opportunities to be used and do good, and open my heart to the Holy Spirit’s leading daily. But sometimes I get a grand “I could be onto something” sense and nothing happens. Or I have zero leading or feelings but just an idea, yet it works. God speaks to His children, but it is not always so easy to decipher. Or maybe I’m the lonely only :)

I think you have confused predestination with providence.
You should check out R.C. Sproul’s teaching series on predestination.

We not only predestined in a thought of God, but all of our actions are part of His predestined plan. Acts 4:24-28

  • Jeff

He plans it, and brings it about. Our wills are a tool in His providence. Just look at Joseph. Gen 45:4-8

Hello pastor John Bevere…I have been having some doubts about my calling..I understand that we are called to live like Jesus lived, to be in sanctification as 1 Thessalonians say and to preach the Word..but I have been asking in prayer what fuction do I have here on earth for God..or it is enough to practice the first thing that I mentioned? Blessings

One evening deep in worship at the well here in Perth Western Australia recently in counter to what I thought had been hope deferred on a certain issue the thought came into my mind that Jesus was my hope, and that He had never been deferred from me, never been withheld from me. That staggered me. The implications being that over the years I had not really trusted Him and that I had once again fallen for the enemies lie that God is not faithful. Thinking about this at work this morning I said to Him Lord “I really do owe you an apology”.

Right away He said “Kevin, you are my son. I love you”.

But then I realised I’d heard the Lord speak these words into my heart today, not my head, my heart, I didn’t know such a thing was possible.

Got home and picked up your book Driven by Eternity which is one He has me reading and read just the one sentence my eye fell on.
Quote’ Looking to the Holy Spirit and listening to His spoken word TO MY HEART multipli,,,,,’unquote.
Yes there we are again, luv it when this happens ^_^

I have always felt that God has been trying to make Himself more known in my life. All sorts of coincidences with the church and disciples. Today, I went to the library to study some chemistry (I am a student once again), and at the desk at which I sat, lay a copy of your Driven by Eternity. I am now reading it to get a better sense of what He would like me to be as His servant.
