Our seeding in Russia is going splendidly. Wherever I go, I am amazed at what the Lord continues to do. All 15,000 Russian Relentless Leaders Packs have been allocated out to the widest possible network of churches across Russia. Indeed, the demand is such that we could easily produce and distribute another 10,000 leadership packs.
Right now, I am in Krasnojarsk, Siberia. We landed in a snowstorm with zero visibility. From here it is closer to Beijing than it is to Moscow; we are north of Mongolia and almost at Russia’s geographical center.
It is now nearly two in the morning and 8° F (-14° C) outside. I have only just got back to my room. What started as a dinner meeting with the principle evangelical ‘Bishop’ here in Krasnojarsk, ended with additions every thirty minutes or so until there were 11 people present. All have read John Bevere’s books and spoke of their rich content. All told me how they use them in their own teachings. Tomorrow, we have a leaders meeting and pastors have travelled from across the region to receive copies of the Russian edition of the Relentless Leaders Pack. There should be some 75 leaders, each one passionate for the things of God; each one hungry for fresh teaching that they can share with their own churches; and each one delighted to have received their own copy of this vital resource.
When I went down to the printing press in Moscow on Tuesday, I saw what could only be described as a “wall of resources.” From the floor to the ceiling, leader packs filled the center of the print shop (see pictures below). This huge stack was surrounded by groups of ladies on all sides who added DVDs to the leadership packs. When I sat down with the manager, an Armenian Christian, to settle the bill, he asked if he could have the privilege of paying for the freight for all the books across the country, as “his part in this great blessing.” I was beyond words!
There was not enough time however for him to get books to Siberia for my meetings this week, so we packed two large and very heavy suitcases and literally dragged them here by air. At check-in, the young lady was amazed at the weight of my three cases, far heavier than my allocation would permit.
I smiled from under my fur hat, shrugged my shoulders, and said, “Christian resources.”
She smiled back and said, “Praise God” in Russian and let me go at no extra charge.
Indeed, we have connections in high places! Such is the ongoing faithfulness of God!
Last Thursday, on the same day that we launched the Russian Relentless Leader Packs, the first of twelve Russian-Relentless teaching sessions went out across the country on TV to an audience of potentially 300 million viewers. I have loaded the first session onto YouTube for you to view.
Why did we choose to start seeding these Russian resources in mid winter? It is so cold here and the nights so long that everyone here stays indoors, reading and watching TV!
For His Name,
P.S. Below are some pictures of the Russian Relentless Leaders Packs.
